Senior Assistant Director, Admissions (National Outreach)
About Our Opportunity:
This position will work in a hybrid capacity with a combination of onsite and remote work.
This position will primarily counsel and assist prospective freshman and transfer students in the college search and selection process with an emphasis on program coordination, strategy initiatives, and other special projects relative to Purdue’s institutional goals for non-resident undergraduate enrollment. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator with the ability to engage and build relationships with prospective students and families, high school counselors, community-based organizations, Purdue alumni, and campus partners.
Additionally, significant position responsibilities include admission recruitment, outreach, and reviewing applications for admission by discerning important information from the application file, putting the information into context, and swiftly and confidently making and justifying hard decisions. This position requires the ability to think quickly, critically, and independently, using problem-solving and judgment skills to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. The Office of Admissions balances multiple priorities at once, thus time management, multitasking, and intrinsic motivation are necessary for this role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, leadership potential, and an ability to contribute to a positive work environment. They will also understand and support the benefits of a diverse campus community and value the perspective of others. This position will frequently engage, both in-person and virtually, with prospective students and their families in one-on-one meetings as well as speak to audiences as large as 1,000 or more on campus, around the state and across the country.
