Job Title:  Senior Assistant Director, Residential Life Neighborhoods

Job Summary

The Senior Assistant Director of Residential Life will provide support 5 Assistant Directors, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality residential experiences and support across all Residential Life Neighborhoods (approximately 18,000 student residential system). This position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of entry-level staff, as well as managing large process that contribute to the development of goals and planning efforts for the department. Few of these processes include: the residential curriculum, professional staff training, and progressive discipline and recognition processes. The Senior Assistant Director will also serve on-call duties, collaborate with the Residential Life Committee to assess and enhance the residential experience, and conduct detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to provide assessments of residential success. Additionally, the Senior Assistant Director will have oversight and provide coaching and trainings of all move-in and move-out process for Residential Life. 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Master’s degree in management or related field. 
  • A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience including experience leading a team. 
  • Equivalent levels of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to utilize strong critical thinking, analytical, team building, and conflict management skills to foster student learning and development
  • Ability to support a culture of professionalism in alignment with unit values 
  • Demonstrated skills in decision making/problems solving, continuous improvement/change management, strategic thinking, financial management, and drive for results
  • Demonstrated skills in supervision, leading others and promoting teamwork in daily work activity
  • Ability to work and thrive under limited supervision
  • Must have the ability to understand and interpret related local, state, and federal regulations, guidelines, codes, and laws
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions
  • Proficiency in Office software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook/Electronic Email
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality
  • Desire to increase knowledge and skills through on-going development activities
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
