Senior Global Support Specialist

Job Summary

Purdue University is looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Global Support Specialist within the Comptroller’s office. The Global Support Specialist is responsible for helping the University meet its international strategic goals by addressing critical risks and service issues related to international activities including but not limited to tax and accounting issues.  


This position will provide customer valued quality, professional level analytical and documentation services, facilitate the University’s Global Support goals, and lead the planning and management of the Global Support Initiative, including the following key activities:  

  • Be key representative and contact for faculty and staff involved in international activities.
  • Research various countries’ tax and other regulations to determine if requests to work or hire in that country are approvable or advise on other solutions.
  • Chair the Global Resource Committee, the University’s committee of specialty resources responsible for coordinating and delivering support services for to the university’s international activities.
  • Draft and work with the legal team on global contracts for tax, legal and professional employment organization services, and other issues that may arise.
  • Manage relationships with external Legal, Accounting/Tax, PEO, and various other consultants.
  • Support and assist in the identification, analysis and development of documentation that establishes campus-wide administrative guidelines, policies and procedures to support efforts of University personnel engaged in global or international activities.

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Four (4) years of experience in Business Administration, Tax or related field
  • Three (3) years leadership experience
  • Must have project management experience 
  • Ability to clearly and timely communicate, verbally and in writing, with accuracy, professionalism, poise, tact, courtesy, and sensitivity
  • Ability to foster an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and leveraged to achieve the vision and mission of the organization.
  • Must have effective active listening, consideration, conflict management, and partnering (networks and alliances) skills
  • Demonstrate organizational and technology skills as well as technical credibility in specialized expertise and functional area


  • MBA 
  • Two (2) years experience with organization or program involved in international activities
  • Experience in Contracting experience
  • Experience in Tax experience
