Senior IT Technician

Job Summary

The successful candidate will support the student laptop program and educational activities in the College of Veterinary Medicine. The technician will assist in selecting the device to be used in the DVM program, work with vendor to create a standard image for the devices and provide direct support to the students, and staff using the devices. This position will provide classroom support, electronic examination support and other computer support across the college.


This position will be responsible for IT needs analysis, system requirements, and modifications in systems and processes to solve complex problems. Serve as backup Tier 2 and 3 support for ADDL and Hospital systems. Create and update technical documentation.


  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field
  • One or more years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues on PC in an education or corporate environment
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (High school and 3 years of relevant experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Possess an innovation and collaboration mindset
  • Interpersonal communication and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills and be customer service oriented
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of computer hardware, software, and peripherals required
  • Familiarity with software and hardware deployment
  • Ability to trouble shoot IT problems and audio/visual equipment



  • Experience implementing hardware, software, wirelesses networking technologies in an educational environment
