Senior Manager, Student Life IT Business Analysis

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of IT Student Life Solutions, the Senior Manager, Student Life IT Business Analysis responsible for delivering information technology and business process solutions in support of student life administration, card office, conferences, and international programs on the West Lafayette campus.   This position develops collaborative relationships with solution stakeholders, oversees, leads and develops a team of business analysts.  Daily activities include customer relationship management, project planning, resourcing and scheduling, managing\coaching staff, monitoring regulatory changes to ensure compliance, gathering requirements, writing business cases, functional design documents, and test scripts, testing and implementing new solutions, consulting with users on system configuration recommendations, training users and providing on-going functional, technical and operational support.  


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business or related fields.  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing, delivery, and developing business solutions
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience leading large projects, people, and resources 
  • Expertise in process design, process improvement, application development and project management methodologies 
  • Experience in supporting portfolio of enterprise wide applications or projects
  • Large-scale system implementation experience
  • Experience in team leadership and mentoring of business analysts or IT professionals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels within the organization Excellent decision making, communication organization, and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to present and discuss information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding
  • Ability to manage teams of business analysts in delivering solutions 
  • Business case development skills, systems design, testing and training skills 
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and mentoring 



  • PMP and/or process improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) certification
  • Knowledge of student information systems and solutions that support university residences, dining, student health and wellness, event management 
  • Strong understanding student life administration systems processing best practices within higher education
