Job Title:  Senior Managing Director of Residential Masters Programs

This position is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Daniels School's in-residence graduate management degree programs.   Competitive program execution requires monitoring of all external performance metrics in comparison to other global programs and positioning Daniels competitively to attract and retain top students. Has ultimate responsibility for all Masters programs –admissions, student services, and program delivery. These responsibilities include policy development and oversight of enrollment management, cost management, performance metrics and data analysis, and relationships with media, students, faculty, and academic program administration. Ultimately responsible for meeting targets for enrollments and costs for all programs and for managing the external image of the programs. Supervises the functional leads of admissions and student services and is responsible for setting a course for the professional development of these and other administrative and support staff. Serves as a liaison between students, staff, and the administration. Coordinating with the School's leadership, the Director will seek innovation and continuous improvement in all areas by working with internal and external stakeholders and developing and executing approval of proposals by coordinating with appropriate academic leadership.

Required:

  • Master's degree
  • 6  years of supervisory experience and experience managing professional programs required.  
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
  • Established record of strategic leadership and management in an academic or business environment
  • Able to manage a staff of full-time, part-time employees, and student workers
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and coordinate across stakeholders
  • Ability to manage relationships across internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and corporate contacts
  • Strong capability to create effective plans, develop and manage a $10M budget, and deliver performance against plans
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and travel (when necessary) overnight as needed

 

Preferred:

  • A degree in business-related discipline
  • Managing professional programs for a business school, training, or HR in mid to large-size corporations is highly desirable
  • Experience in successfully managing training, graduate programs and executive education, corporate relations, services marketing, or related experience 
  • Experience in strategic management and competitive products - training programs, executive education, or services
