Job Summary

As Research Facility Planning Engineer, you will lead and coordinate technical tool installations and modifications of research equipment in sophisticated laboratories and ISO-3 class cleanroom at the Birck Nanotechnology Center.  Additional duties include:

• Maintain established procedures and processes to assist faculty and staff from different College units across Purdue campus.
• Document new procedures for the smooth operation and maintenance of technical subsystems (HVAC, CDA, PVAC, PCW, power distribution).
• Help with the procurement process to best match existing utilities to reduce installation costs.
• Work closely with Birck Nanotechnology Building Operations, Strategic Planning, Research Engineering, and Safety Officer to generate layouts budgets, install documents, and execute timelines.
• Work closely with specialized trades and contractors to remove obstacles to maintain install schedule and costs.
• Complete final install documents and CAD layouts to improve craftsmanship and reduce cost.
• To engineer, monitor, and evaluate building systems and their capacities to implement future changes, and associate cost with strategic plans.

Support building operations involving strategic planning, monitoring cleanroom operations and quality, and buildingdesign.  Provide engineering support for assigned specialized building subsystems to improve building operation, unscheduled failures and their associated reactions, and cost of services.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology or a related area
• Two or more years of experience in cleanroom support, operations and controls
• Facility Engineering of an ISO Class 5 cleanroom environment
• Experience in cleanroom commissioning and related cleanroom support systems
• Strong technical writing skills
• Computer and PLC skills
• Ability to document complex processes and systems
