Senior Program Administration Specialist - Honors College

Job Summary

The Senior Program Administration Specialist is responsible for administering the process for top students and alumni to pursue nationally competitive awards, providing clear direction and guidance for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent alumni. The emphasis is on awards for graduate scholarships for study outside the US.
Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Manage the complex processes of student recruiting, advising, and application writing of nationally and internationally competitive scholarships for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program as well as undergraduate awards such as Goldwater, Astronaut, Udall, etc.
  • Liaise with external foundations as an official campus representative for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and awards in the Assistant Director’s portfolio.
  • Manage a portfolio of faculty committees related to nationally and internationally prestigious fellowships: plan, organize and provide guidance to faculty, and facilitate high-level discussions related to candidates
  • Collaborate with the director under limited supervision on graduate awards to advise applicants from across the complete spectrum of university disciplines, manage the process for selecting and notifying nominees, and develop nomination materials and supporting documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Four (4) years’ experience advising and/or conducting outreach to students either within higher education or as part of a fellowship foundation
  • Exemplary writing skills, excellent oral communication skills
  • MSWord, MSExcel
  • Ability to present information clearly and enthusiastically to diverse groups of students
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable program
  • Outstanding social skills with the ability to form cordial and positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative by showing leadership in areas of responsibility
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
