Senior Research Associate

Job Summary

The Senior Research Associate will work with a multi-university team to develop a curriculum overlay for 3rd and 4th grade students from under-resourced schools.  The research project My Math Stories: Taking My Place in Our Mathematical World (My Math Stories) will be designed to support students’ mathematics, executive functioning, and math self-efficacy.  Project performance will be reviewed annually and continued employment is based on availability of funding.


Responsibilities include:

  • coordinating with teachers, schools, and a multi-university collaborative team
  • running project meetings with the core research team and subgroups
  • assisting in the design and creation of curricular materials
  • data management
  • supervision of undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and project staff
  • management of IRB, grants administration, and websites
  • travel to project meetings, schools, and conferences
  • writing dissemination materials and project reports, and (9) other responsibilities as needed.



  • Ph.D., Ed.D or comparable degree in human development, education, psychology, or related field
  • Three (3) months of research experience
  • Knowledge of elementary mathematics or executive functioning development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a research team
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • 10% travel to research locations
  • A valid US or Canadian driver’s license



  • Knowledge and experience related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working and/or conducting research in elementary school settings
  • IRB application and management experience
  • Schedule and budget management knowledge
  • Data management experience
