Job Summary

The Senior Service Maintenance Worker will perform skilled labor duties in the area of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position will work in a fully equipped metal shop, carpentry shop and paint shop and must be familiar with specialized carpentry equipment (wood planer, wood jointer, wood lathe, table router, table saw, band saw, dust collection system), and metal equipment (tig welder, stick welder, welding hood, metal brake, metal punch, metal sheer, drill press). Additional duties will include:

• Perform general carpentry skills, painting, concrete work, concrete finishing and repairs, fiberglass repairs
• Perform general cleaning functions for athletic facilities
• Run vacuum sweepers, sweep, mop, clean toilets, pick up debris from parking lots, etc
• Read blueprints and sketches, or create own sketches and design work based on verbal instruction, in order to fabricate new projects and make repairs to existing furniture, cabinetry and facilities 
• Work with numerous materials such as wood, acrylic, laminate, carpet, sheetrock, ceiling tile, etc
• Operate forklift, skid loader, tractors, dump truck, etc. 
• Haul stone, gravel, trash, snow or any other materials
• Assist with snow removal by driving snow equipment
• Perform minor maintenance and repair to machinery and vehicles
• Set up and tear down for various sporting events and athletic department functions
• Assist in preparing facilities for all outdoor sporting events

Required:

• High School diploma/GED
• 4 years of general maintenance (Carpentry, welding, plumbing, etc.) or related experience
• Ability to operate forklift, skid steer, tractors, dump truck, snow removal equipment, hand tools
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Overtime is needed during seasonal sporting and special events
• Valid US or Canadian driver's license
