Job Summary
The Purdue University Veterinary Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic, credentialed veterinary technician to add to our Physical Rehabilitation team! Working for the physical rehabilitation department, veterinary nurses have the opportunity to help patients get back to their physical health after surgical procedures. We work with various patients, including post-surgical, geriatric, and the critically ill. Opportunity also exists to work with horses, livestock, and exotics if desired. As a veterinary nurse for this department, we help to create tailored treatment plans with the physical rehabilitation veterinarian that include therapeutic modalities and manual therapies to treat each individual patient's needs.

What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- AAS in Veterinary Technology from AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program
- Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire
Skills Needed:
- Able to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and write in English
- Must possess knowledge level enough to explain and demonstrate routine veterinary medical concepts and procedures to aid in instruction of veterinary students, and veterinary technology students
- Must complete Purdue Veterinary Technician Basic Skills List prior to promotion to Lead Veterinary Technician
Preferred:
- 1 year of working in a veterinary hospital is ideal, specialty practice
