What You'll be Doing:

Performs a wide range of building repair and maintenance tasks for Operations and Maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering, and locksmithing. Responds to service requests, helps diagnose problems, and recommends appropriate repairs or maintenance solutions.

Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as Associate Maintenance Technician (S1) or Maintenance Technician (S2).  The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience (S1)
Qualified Candidates Will Need:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • General maintenance work experience 
  • Familiarity with University policies regarding building maintenance and security preferred

Skills Needed:

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, painting, plastering and lock smith fields
  • Mechanical aptitude and leadership skills helpful
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and written and verbal instructions, perform basic math functions
  • Competencies for this position are work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision making, and dependability; may include financial, coaching, delegation, and planning 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers, and customers
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and stand, walk or stoop extensively
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds 
  • A valid US or Canadian drivers’ license
