The Strategic Sourcing Analyst plays a key role in advancing Purdue University’s mission through thoughtful and strategic procurement. In this role, you will manage department-specific procurements within your assigned portfolio of goods and services, applying your expertise to ensure value, compliance, and alignment with university goals.
You will lead the full sourcing lifecycle — from identifying department needs and developing solicitations to executing procurements, facilitating evaluations, and conducting negotiations. Upon contract finalization, you will work closely with the department’s contract manager to ensure a seamless handoff for ongoing contract management.
As an experienced professional contributor, you’ll work under limited supervision, using your judgment and specialized knowledge to drive successful sourcing outcomes while developing trusted partnerships across campus.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with university departments to assess procurement needs and craft solicitations that meet end user requirements
- Lead supplier evaluations and contract negotiations to secure optimal results for Purdue
- Support departments through the transition from sourcing to contract management, ensuring clear communication and effective execution

While you will work remotely a majority of the time you will be expected to come to campus in West Lafayette for quarterly meetings.

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
- BA/BS
- Two (2) or more years of experience in business management, finance, procurement, supply chain management or related field
- equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
Skills Needed:
- Experience:
- within a public or private procurement program
- using an enterprise procurement system
- organization, problem solving and negotiation skills
- analytical skills.
- presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Possesses and demonstrates the ability to learn the policies, procedures, and execution strategy for multiple solicitation methods
