Strong swimming skills are a required prerequisite to interview for this position. Please look up the American Red Cross Lifeguard swim skills evaluation if you are unsure if your swimming abilities will meet the requirements for this position.
Compensation Hours/Week
$10.25/hour Flexible, 6 hours minimum Monday-Friday (with the option to request a weekly maximum)
Purdue University Lifeguards must meet the highest level of expectations and qualifications. We require a high degree of competency in skills, critical thinking, and knowledge. Lifeguards are required to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. They do this by being vigilant, enforcing policies, maintaining skills and their fitness, maintaining certifications, responding appropriately to all emergencies, and keeping all users in the aquatic facilities safe.

Valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding/ First-aid/ CPR/ AED preferred
(Ellis & Starguard are permitted)
