Job Summary

The Student Affairs Administrator supports the Brock-Wilson Center (BWC) in program development and delivery as well as acts as the student interface for a portfolio of signature events. Reporting to the Assistant/Associate Director of BWC with the general operations, which include (but are not limited to): event planning, marketing, student recruitment of undergraduate students, and administration for new and ongoing programs. Utilizing Purdue’s investment in the StrengthsFinder assessment, this position will map out and manage a coaching (personal/Professional development) program for Daniels School of Business students, faculty and staff. This position will also substitute for BWC Directors in the classroom, meetings, on-campus recruitment events, and other matters when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualified candidates will need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of experience in event planning, marketing, delivering student support services or related field

 

Skills Needed:

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate student learning, network with alumni, and interact with corporate recruiters
  • Excellent project/program management capabilities
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Strong computer skills, ability to use varied technology platforms
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with both internal and external partners
  • Ability to advise or coach undergraduate students

 

What is helpful:

  • Experience in industry/corporate setting
  • Prior experience (professional or volunteer) working with teenagers or pre-college students
  • Experience with and/or certification in Gallup’s StrengthsFinder Coaching
