Job Summary

The Institute for Digital Forestry is seeking a mechanically inclined student to assist in the development of cutting-edge remote sensing hardware systems. This position offers hands-on experience with CAD design, prototyping, and hardware/electronics integration for advanced mobile-mapping and forestry research. The ideal candidate will have a passion for prototyping, design, innovation, and a desire to contribute to academic research and commercialization.

Required Qualifications

Enrollment or significant experience in technical fields related to Engineering, Aviation, Technology, or Design.

Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Inventor, Fusion 360, KiCAD).

Strong hands-on skills with electrical and mechanical tools and assemblies.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Interest in software development is a plus.

Conduct field tests to evaluate the performance and durability of integrated systems.

Maintain detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and test results.
