Technical Coordinator - Staging Systems

About Our Opportunity:

As the Technical Coordinator, you will serve as the technical lead in the staging specialty area. This position is responsible for all specialty equipment systems and determines the most effective equipment allocations for live events through meticulous advanced planning. Communicate forward looking equipment plans with Technical Managers, Event Production Managers, and Live Event Technicians. This position will manage maintenance program for all mobile and installed production equipment in conjunction with Technical Managers and will communicate program needs and requests in an effort to promote good relations with public, clients, and staff. Assume Event Coordinator duties as assigned. This role will also design, prepare, install, operate and remove live event production systems for events based on department work schedule. Performs in leadership role in regards to production teams and maintenance activities and maintains an active role in all department training initiatives with students, part-time, and full-time staff. This position will assist Technical Managers in developing improvement plans throughout the department and actively participates in on-going planning and improvement meetings.

 

What We’re Looking For:
Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Four years of technical production work with extensive experience in technical area equipment and methodologies.
  • High work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision making, and dependability. 
  • Functional competencies in rigging, electrical, sound reinforcement, video and/or stage systems. 
  • Competencies include financial, coaching, delegation, and planning.   
  • Working knowledge of word processing and excel spreadsheets. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and customer support. 
  • Customer service, math skills, filing, and office procedures. 
  • Ability to supervise, train and direct staff.  
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, pay close attention to detail and deal with a variety of daily obstacles to live event production work.  
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
