Travel Expense Assistant
Job Summary
The Travel Expense Partner is responsible for the timely creation of travel expense reports in accordance with Purdue’s policies and procedures. The Travel Expense Partner is responsible for completing the review of travel card charges, creation of the travel expense when the traveler submits electronic receipts, ensuring correct coding, classification and reconciling of the receipts. Travel Expense Partner will also resolve discrepancies by collecting, analyzing information including adherence to set escalation of matters.
This position will be remote, however some meetings will require attendance on the West Lafayette campus.
What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- High School Degree or GED
- A minimum three (3) years involving clerical, book Account keeping, or accounting
- University knowledge is a plus
Skills Needed:
- Excellent customer service skills with ability to create great working relationships with all levels of staff and across multiple disciplines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented
- Analytical and Reporting Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet connection required
- Proficiency in or willing to learn Concur Expense
- Working knowledge of Footprints system
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and accountable for results
- Works under moderate supervision
- Strong knowledge of University Travel & Expense regulations and guidelines
- Must learn to interpret and effectively communicate University and Procurement Services policies and procedures, including travel related regulations from federal and State of Indiana
- Must learn and be familiar with how to make travel arrangements (airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.) that adheres to University policy, procedures and guidelines
