Veterinarian, Lead
Job Summary:
The Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) is accepting applications for a full-time staff veterinarian position at our West Lafayette location in the role of Client Services Veterinarian (CSV).
The successful candidate will provide information and guidance to clients (private practitioners, Purdue Veterinary Hospital clinicians, state and regulatory agencies, and owners) and staff (working closely and guiding ADDL accessioning staff) concerning sample collection and submission, test strategies, test selection, and test result interpretation. The client services veterinarian will contribute content and expertise to the creation and delivery of client educational materials via digital platforms (website, newsletter, and social media, for example) and virtual and in-person presentations. The CSV will analyze and summarize diagnostic test data to determine infectious disease trends and make recommendations for control. The successful candidate will actively participate in emergency response planning, exercises, preparation and delivery while integrating the needs of state/federal agencies and clients with those of the ADDL.

Indiana holds multiple top five national rankings for production species including ranking 1st in the nation for duck production, 2nd in chickens and total eggs produced, 4th in turkey production, and 5th in hog production.
A DVM degree from an AVMA accredited program is required with at least three years of experience as a veterinarian. Familiarity with animal agriculture and production medicine is preferred. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to work independently and as a group, and exemplary customer service skills. Eligibility for educational loan repayment through the Veterinary Medical Loan Repayment Program in the spring of 2024 may be available.

Requirements:
- Education: DVM required.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in practice, laboratory, or regulatory position and interest and expertise in population medicine, production medicine, companion animal medicine, and/or livestock/equine disease diagnosis.
