Job Summary
The Purdue Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to add to our small animal Anesthesia/Surgery teams. This position has the opportunity to work in the OR to prepare and recover patients from anesthesia, circulate the surgery suite in a variety of soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures, and assist the team with a variety of organizational and patient safety checklists. In addition, veterinary assistants can work with our receiving teams to perform diagnostic procedures, educate clients, and assist in inpatient care.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills Needed:
- Able to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and write in English
- Must have confidence around domestic animals
What is Helpful:
- 1 year of work experience in a veterinary hospital
- Specialty veterinary experience
- NAVTA Veterinary Assistant certification
