Job Summary
The Purdue Veterinary Hospital is looking for a credentialed veterinary technician with experience in Behavior to add to our team. This team member will provide technical assistance to clinicians, interns, residents, students, and other veterinary technicians in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The position is required to provide various types of clinical services while delivering quality patient care. Duties include but are not limited to providing demonstrations and assistance in both basic and advanced medical procedures to veterinary technicians and veterinary technician students, as well as providing instruction on physiology and advanced disease processes. Lead Veterinary Technicians will monitor hospital inventory and supplies and order when necessary. Assignment to other areas of the hospital in need may be required, as well as holiday rotation and possible participation in on-call coverage. Lead Veterinary Technician positions will be expected to provide medical leadership on the hospital floor through employee flow management, high-level patient care, and decision-making in emergencies.

What We’re Looking For:
Qualified candidates will need:
- AAS in Veterinary Technology from AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program
- Two years in a University Veterinary Teaching Hospital or Veterinary Specialty Hospital as a credentialed veterinary technician
- Two years working in veterinary behavior or with a DACVB
Skills needed:
- Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire.
- Able to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions.
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.
- Must possess a knowledge level enough to explain and demonstrate routine veterinary medical concepts and procedures to aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students
