Web Application Developer

The Web Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain the web applications and web sites for the Engineering Computer Network (ECN) within the College of Engineering.  Major responsibilities include coordinating with various stakeholders to define and develop high-quality solutions and maintaining/developing existing applications in compliance with ADA and W3C standards.



  • Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, or closely related technical field
  • Two (2) years of experience with web application design, development, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of system analysis and programming on LINUX systems
  • Strong knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS, Server Side Scripting (CGI, Python, Perl, PHP), Client Side Scripting (Javascript) and SQL (Oracle, MySQL, SQLServer)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively support the department and customer needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within the department and to address customer needs



  • Knowledge of Apache, IIS, ZOPE, PLONE, Object Oriented Design, and Usability Standards
