Job Summary

The Department of Basic Medical Sciences within the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally-funded research program in an area consistent with current departmental strengths such as cancer biology, musculoskeletal biology, and neuroscience. In addition to the department and the college, this position offers unique opportunities for collaboration through the Purdue Health and Life Sciences cluster within Purdue’s Discovery Park and the Purdue One Health Initiative. Purdue University spans the hard tech corridor between West Lafayette and Indianapolis, offering a variety of locations for living, research, and teaching.

 

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in biology or related field and have demonstrated excellence in research. Candidates who also possess an additional medical degree (e.g., D.V.M., V.M.D., or M.D.) are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic research program, participate in graduate student training, and teach at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional veterinary levels.
