Payroll Appointment Specialist

 Purdue University is seeking a professional and customer service oriented individual as a Payroll Appointment Specialist.  This role will provide high level administrative support for business processes.  Primary liaison with other University offices, individuals, external institutions and agencies.  Use knowledge of University policies and procedures to interpret, research or troubleshoot routine and non-routine issues.  Responsible to create, audit, or approve data, reports or records.  Ensure operations are completed in compliance with policies, guidelines and regulations.


  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Four or more years of experience in human resources, payroll or other related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-service focus
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to concurrently in multiple programs to complete tasks.


  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, human resources or related
  • Experience using SuccessFactors


  • Purdue will not sponsor work authorization for this position
