Job Summary

As a member of the Purdue Brand Studio social media team, you will be responsible for driving organic YouTube channel growth and engagement, with a focus on short-form video content (e.g., YouTube Shorts). A successful candidate will closely monitor trends and leverage SEO strategies to optimize content visibility and inform content creation decisions. Working closely with the Lead Digital Community Manager, you will deliver engaging storytelling and compelling content to Purdue University's key audiences.  

 

This is a hybrid (remote/on-campus) position. You must live within driving distance to the West Lafayette campus.

What We’re Looking For:

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Publications, or related field  
  • Three (3) years’ of experience in a digital marketing, content creation, or social media role  

 

 

Skills needed:

  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices as it relates to trending content
  • Experience using Sprout Social or another social media management and reporting tool
  • Experience editing short-form video using in-platform editing tools or Adobe, iMovie, etc.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work outside of “standard” business hours when needed
  • Comfortable learning new software and platforms for social media
  • Attention to detail as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Creative, proactive and independent thinking, with a strong solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to assess systems and processes for continuous improvement
