Nutrition Education Program Assistant

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Regional Supervisor of the Nutrition Education Program, the NEP Assistant will help improve nutrition and health in limited-resource communities statewide by supporting NEP’s five focus areas: diet quality, physical activity, food security, food safety and food resource management. 


***This represents a part-time position of .50 full-time equivalent (FTE) (about 20 hours/week) That supports Allen County***


Additional Assistant responsibilities:

  • schedule, recruit and conduct group and individual educational sessions on basic nutrition, budgeting and food safety
  • maintain a case load of program participants as specified in the program criteria
  • use approved curriculum to teach food and nutrition related subject matter to limited resource audiences in person and virtually
  • work closely with the Regional Supervisor for program implementation
  • conduct a pre- and post-test evaluation in program implementation



  • High school diploma/GED
  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 to 25 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally
