About Our Opportunity:

The Lead Cook for Dining Services will serve as a leader/coach/mentor for high volume food station in a large, multi-faceted, fast paced, collegiate food operation. This role will work in a variety of areas in the operation and continuously orient, train, and mentor full-time and student employees in safety, culinary techniques, safe food handling, and equipment operation. The Team Lead works independently using expert culinary and organization skills, while communicating effectively throughout each shift with guests, employees, and supervisors. Daily tasks may include grilling, frying, assembling recipes, and food preparation.

What We're Looking For:

 

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Two years of experience in food service, hospitality, or in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, write, weigh, measure, and perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and plan and organize as needed.
  • Ability to work with others, particularly individuals from differing backgrounds and views.
  • Ability to pass the Food Handler’s examination, ServSave, and AllerTrainU within 3 months of hire.
  • A passion for food and culinary work with the knowledge of food sanitation, cross-contact, and allergy protocols.

 

Preferred:

  • ServSafe Certification

  • Due to this being a full-time, benefits eligible position, full-time undergraduate students are not eligible for this role
