What You'll be Doing:

This position will conduct building inspections/assessments, based on APPA cleaning standards and service level commitments utilizing specialized software.  Plan and schedule inspections to ensure their timely completion, while also maintaining the integrity of the quality assurance database.  Clearly communicate results of inspections to staff and leadership while offering suggestions for future improvement.  Provide small group, departmental process training. Plan, schedule, and conduct building inspections based on the APPA cleaning standards and service level commitments utilizing specialized software.  Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of building inspections and the quality assurance database.  Evaluate and verify that the work performed meets the University standard.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm

Hourly Pay: $20.77

What We Are Looking For:

Education and Experience

Qualified Candidates Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Must have completed Building Services Custodial Development Program, or be enrolled in program within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to train small (3 – 10) groups
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics and effectively communicate via a computer
  • Good work organization ability
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures regarding custodial cleaning and safety
  • Personal protective equipment may be required during specific work duties as determined by the department
  • Ability to lift and carry 25-50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally required
  • Ability to work efficiently and professionally in a fast paced and diverse team setting
  • Will work outdoors 10% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees
  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license

 

What’s Nice to Have:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • One year of supervision experience
  • Knowledge of campus buildings and locations
  • Highly motivated and possess the ability to use independent judgement in the completion of assigned duties
  • Must be able to compile data, identify problems, analyze information, and develop and implement solutions
  • Possess excellent organizational/time management skills, prioritize/balance multiple tasks with deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to apply general rules to specific problems and identify answers that make sense
  • Expect to manage their work load with little to no supervision
