Recruiting Specialist

The College of Science is seeking a Recruiting Specialist to join a collaborative team dedicated to attracting, engaging, and supporting prospective students as they explore opportunities in science-related fields. This role blends relationship-building, strategic outreach, and data-informed decision-making to help shape the future student population of the College.
As a Recruiting Specialist, you will implement recruitment initiatives, analyze trends and enrollment data, and contribute to the development of effective recruitment strategies. You will serve as a key resource for prospective and admitted students and their families, providing personalized guidance on academic programs, pathways, and opportunities within the College of Science. Working closely with faculty, advisors, enrollment management, and other campus partners, you will represent the College at recruitment events, high schools, college fairs, and virtual programs. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across the university.
What You'll Do
- Execute recruitment plans and outreach initiatives designed to attract prospective students
- Analyze recruitment data and trends to inform strategies and improve processes
- Provide guidance and support to prospective and admitted students and their families
- Represent the College of Science through presentations, campus events, college fairs, and community outreach
- Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and university partners to communicate opportunities and resources available to students
- Contribute to the development of presentations, communications, and recruitment materials
This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys connecting with students, solving complex challenges, and contributing to strategic recruitment efforts in a dynamic academic environment. Occasional travel and evening or weekend event participation are required.
What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree is required with a preference for STEM fields.
- Two (2) years of prior relevant experience also required:
- Examples include higher education admissions, student services, academic advising, or student recruiting
- Additional experience developing and coordinating programs and general knowledge of customer service best-practices is needed
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with various populations in secondary or higher education
Skills Required:
- Strong communication skills, particularly excellent presentation abilities, to engage effectively with prospective students and stakeholders
- Proficiency in data analysis is essential for interpreting recruitment trends and demographics to inform strategies
- Requires project management skills to oversee recruitment initiatives, along with interpersonal skills to build relationships with various groups
- A deep understanding of higher education practices, coupled with the ability to influence and advocate for the College’s values, is crucial for success in this position
